Threshold SA-4e

I have here a classic of all time but it was not taken care of cosmetically. It is a total shame. It has only had one owner believe it or not but he became a subject of addiction and was forced to move multiple times. It has a fair number of dings and scratches due to being moved many times w/o its original box and packing. I have cleaned it up as well as possible and touched it up. If you do a saved search on ebay for handles (an sa model from the late 80's/early 90's will fit, it would be MUCH better. Anyway, The unit powers up and sounds wonderful for about 20 minutes and then one ch begins to run away and overheat. I have replaced the notorious IEC power input section with the proper replacement from Jon Soderburg. Soooo much better than the original from Threshold. That was $150 by itself! It will cost so much to ship from me to Jon and in its condition, I think it best to sell as it is. 100 watts/ch of pure Class A goodness and the very last design by Pass for Threshold. Here is your chance to own a classic for much less than typically selling for and hopefully fix up down the road with add'l cleaning, tlc, painting, etc. If you are tech savvy....great! But, I would highly suggest Jon Soderburg in Ca. for the repair. Please remember that A'gon does not have a way to insure the shipment on the site. If you wish ins, I can quote after the fact.
The amplifier is rated at a 100 watts continuous Class A and 200 watts peak watts per channel..
Included are operating manual, power cord and shipping box with the original styrofome packing from the manufactory.
