Ear Yoshino EAR 912 Tube Preamplifier

For your consideration is my personal EAR 912 "Professional Tube Control Center" I am the second owner of this amazing full function preamp, I purchased it here on Audiogon about two years ago. Currently has NOS Phillips Holland 7DJ8's installed, also included is a full set of Black Sable tubes that are at 85-90% Preamp is in near mint condition fully functional and includes box, remote and manuals. Please note if you search completed transactions here on Audiogon you'll see a few 912's that sold for $2500-$3500. These are obviously scam ad's so please don't offer me $2500 for my preamp!!

This full function pre-amp includes a really great phono stage with 2 inputs, each one that can be either mm or mc. This is perfect if you want to connect two arms with stereo/mono or mc/mm cartridges.  The mc phono input has an input transformer with 4 primary tap settings select able by front panel knob for cartridge load/gain settings. I have compared the phono stage in this pre-amp to the EAR 834P phono stage, and this one has more functions built into it as well as better sound.  The line input has 3 gain settings 0db, -6db, -12db select able by front panel knob and feeds a pair of studio grade VU meters before hitting the volume control pot.  At first I thought the VU meters were mostly for show, but that is not true at all as they allow you to see how hard you are driving the input and to see how dynamic or compressed the signal is.  This is especially interesting for the phono section where you can see how good (or bad) the mastering was.   You can google the excellent review by Art Dudly from Stereophile for a more detailed description.  

The EAR 912 has 8 inputs which include, 2 phono inputs (These can be either MC or MM), 4 single ended line inputs, and 2 balanced line inputs.  It has 2 single ended (RCA) outputs and 2 balanced (XLR) outputs as well as 1 (RCA) tape output.  All inputs and outputs are transformer coupled.  Refer to the EAR Yoshino web page for full specifications.
