RME ADI-2 DAC, Like new condition, includes all accessories, original packaging

I bought this item new from Sweetwater in 2021. I used it quite happily into 2023, but then I decided to try something new. This was not a matter of being unhappy with the RME; more a matter of curiosity about certain new items that appeared at the time. 

There are many reviews of the RME ADI-2 online; also quite a few excellent YouTube videos. So I won’t bother saying too much about mine. Just a few details. 

In addition to truly exceptional sound, the RME ADI-2 offers more features, adjustments, and capabilities than any other audio component you are likely to find. I really consider it a commercial product, because it has so many more adjustments and options than most audio consumers would ever need. Just open the user’s manual, and you’ll see what I mean. 

It’s very compact, as the photos show. Five different digital filters, which can nuance the sound to a remarkable degree. Very nice parametric EQ, as well as convenient Bass and Treble knobs for quick tweaks. (To an extent, it combines the functions of DAC and preamp.) There’s also a built in headphone amp, so just combine this DAC with a laptop and you have a complete sound system. 

Regarding the processor… About the time I bought this unit, RME encountered supply problems with their original processor, which was sourced in Europe. I contacted them about this. Based on the the serial number, they confimed that my unit uses the AK4493 DA converter, a premium, 32-bit, 2-channel digital-to-analog chip from Asahi Kasei Microdevices. This might matter to you, and I wanted to be clear on the details. As previously stated, the sound is excellent. 

This sale includes the DAC, remote, USB cable, power supply, and user manual. (Note that the power supply, while external, is NOT a cheap wall wart; it’s a more sophisticated supply, which is mentioned in some of the reviews.) The remote has never been used, so you’ll have to remove the plastic film inside the battery compartment. 

This item will be shipped double-boxed using the original factory packaging.
