iFi unveils the ZEN CAN Signature HFM: a finely tuned addition to their lineup, designed specifically for HIFIMAN headphones. With its expertly crafted ActivEQ setting, the ZEN CAN Signature HFM is tailored to optimize the entire frequency response curve, unlocking the full potential of these exceptional headphones and elevating their performance to new heights.

The ActivEQ feature combines active and passive components to create an EQ curve specifically tailored for certain headphones, optimized in the analog domain without adding noise or distortion. The ZEN CAN Signature HFM is meticulously tuned for HIFIMAN’s planar magnetic headphones, renowned for their exceptional clarity and expansive soundstage. This amplifier enhances deep bass textures and adds energy to the upper mid-range, offering an enriched listening experience with models like the Sundara, HE-4XX, and Edition X.

By pressing the HFM button, the amplifier’s signal is adjusted to complement the frequency response of HIFIMAN headphones, ensuring optimal performance across the audio spectrum. This feature works seamlessly with popular models like the HE-400S and HE-5 while maintaining balanced performance for other headphones and IEMs when not activated. The addition of iFi’s XSpace mode further broadens the soundstage for a more immersive and natural listening experience.

The ZEN CAN Signature HFM offers exceptional power, delivering up to 1600mW (7.2V) into 32 Ohms via the single-ended output and over 15V for high-impedance headphones through the balanced output. Its symmetrical dual-mono design incorporates advanced Class A circuitry from iFi’s flagship Pro iCAN, providing ultra-low distortion, precise dynamics, and a rich sonic profile. The use of premium components, such as Panasonic OS-CON and Elna Silmic II capacitors, enhances audio performance to an impressive level.

With four gain settings (0dB, 6dB, 12dB, and 18dB) via iFi’s PowerMatch, the amp is adaptable to a wide range of headphones. Lower gain settings are ideal for sensitive IEMs, while higher settings are designed for more demanding planar magnetic models. The amplifier features a variety of input and output options, including stereo RCA, 3.5mm single-ended, and 4.4mm balanced Pentaconn inputs, as well as 4.4mm balanced and 6.3mm single-ended headphone outputs. The 4.4mm balanced connection is especially suited for high-impedance headphones or IEMs with detachable cables, ensuring users get the most out of their equipment.
