Gen2 Obsidian Folded Motion Tweeter

Regular dome tweeters push air by moving in and out. The Folded Motion tweeter squeezes air like an accordion. This pleated diaphragm needs 90% less movement to create the same sound pressure. Less movement means less distortion. The surface area is 8 to 10 times larger than a typical 1-inch dome, which translates to faster response and more detail. You hear it immediately in cymbals, vocals, and acoustic instruments.

Folded Motion Waveguide

The waveguide shapes how sound leaves the tweeter. Instead of spraying high frequencies everywhere -- bouncing off walls and ceiling -- it focuses the output in a 90° by 90° pattern. More sound reaches your ears directly. Fewer reflections muddy the image. Everyone in the room gets clear, detailed highs, not just the person in the sweet spot.

Aluminum Cone Drivers

The F2 uses a 5.5-inch aluminum midrange driver and three 6.5-inch aluminum woofers. Aluminum is light and stiff -- it moves fast and doesn't flex. These drivers came down from MartinLogan's more expensive Motion XT series. The triple woofer array reaches down to 36Hz, which is real bass from a tower speaker.

McCracken-Vojtko Crossover

MartinLogan's crossover design blends drivers so smoothly you can't hear the handoffs. They use custom simulation software, measure each speaker in an anechoic chamber, then fine-tune by ear with blind listening tests. The result is a 3-way speaker that sounds like a single driver from top to bottom.

Braced MDF Cabinet

The cabinet uses thick MDF with internal bracing to kill vibration. Dual rear-firing ports extend bass response while keeping the speaker efficient. The Black finish comes with Gunmetal trim -- clean and modern without being flashy.
