Counterpoint SA5000 upgraded by Mike Elliot

 REDUCED PRICE! I am reluctantly selling my hi-fi system due to lack of use due to the unfortunate acoustics of the attic which meant that I now only used my second system in the living room. All the material is in perfect order and for years I have been listening to it for no more than 10 hours a year, practically unused. The pre is electrically and cosmetically perfect.

 I sent the preamp to Mike Elliot (Counterpoint founder/owner) where it underwent the following upgrades: LSP Premium upgrade ($929), "Direct in" mod ($70), Power supply level II upgrade ($1069), connection upgrade (1 pair $100), circuit board damping (page with the cost not printed so I don't remember) and then there is the volume potentiometer, the one I had fitted in place of the standard one and the resistor type: in fact it moves in cliks, gradually selecting different resistances, I didn't print that change either. That's $2168 without the damping circuit board, without the volume pot and without the tubes! Years have passed and I had lost memory of how much I had spent on it! In fact, to protect the pre, Mike Elliott warmly invited me to send it back in a "wood crate", a wooden box in which its original box is and on which there are still waybills to and from California, all in my garage.
