While I've included industry write-ups below, I wanted to share the meat of the story behind these Focal Electra 1008BE II's up for sale first. Simply put, they are an amazing speaker that audio reviewers report delivering such a high quality and accurate sound reproduction far beyond what can be found in a like-priced competitor. If you don't know Focal, they used to manufacture speakers for lots of other high-end speaker companies, including Wilson Audio. Their quality stands above most in the industry. Quick call-out from descrip below - These speakers have 11 coats of varnish on the speaker's wooden panels! Insane, but speaks of quality and limitless attention to detail.
I purchased these along with the floor standing model 1038BE II (which I'm keeping), but do not have the room configuration to make them work full time as part of my HT system, so need to let them go.
Condition/what's included: The speakers are in phenomenal shape and purchased recently second hand. They appear new. Original in-service date was late 2018/2019 - 2022. I have only plugged into my system for light testing. While I can't be 100% sure, the speakers immaculate condition and owner's report add up to the speakers NEVER being abused in my book.
While in my pic carousel, I will call out the ONLY blemish I can find - a 1/8" dot where the Dogato Walnut stain did not adhere to the laminate evenly and appears a slightly-lighter shade on top of one speaker. I only noticed while taking pics, and included in posting. Other than that, they are flawless in condition and performance. Sale includes the speakers, removable grills, Focal electra 1008BE II stands (also amazing condition with no nicks/scratches), custom quilted covers (always used), and original packaging.
Pictures show light reflections of Christmas tree (yup, its still up).
Pricing: These were $5,995 (+$1,500 for Focal Electra stands) new. They were replaced in ~2018 by the Focal Kanta's, which can be picked up currently for $8k/pair. Prefer local pickup.
