Tonearm stand for an SME model 12. This custom made stand allows for the use of an SME second tonearm (either a 309, a series IV or a V) with the turntable
Great opportunity! The stand is brand new. Avoid the almost 3 months’ time of waiting for it!
I ordered it from Acoustand in the UK and finally decided to buy the original twin subchassis from SME (four times the cost, my loss). So, the stand is finished, never used, and therefore waiting for a new owner at Acoustand headquarters in England.
Shipping from there is free up to 100 sterling pounds!
As the photos show, this is the model with the built-in arm panel and it was terminated so as mate the turntable’s looks.
Final price with shipping included is 650 u$d
And, as Acoustand’s page says:
WHY TWO TONEARMS?
Perhaps you require a cartridge with MONO capabilities to play old mono records which a stereo cartridge can do, but not as well.
Maybe you like a certain MM cartridge for pop and rock, perhaps an MC cartridge for classical and delicate tracks.

Whatever your reason, adding an extra tonearm can give you the flexibility of moving from one genre to another with ease, its a lot harder to think of a reason NOT to have one.
If you have an SME model 12 turntable with a single arm plinth, and you decide you want a secondary arm, you would normally have to order an expensive twin arm plinth, but with this Tonearm stand, you can add that second arm with no disruption to your existing setup.
The Tonearm Stand is very heavy, this is a requirement to avoid movement, and cut microphonic vibrations.
Dimensions provided by the manufacturer

The stand is 112mm high with standard spikes and shoes. That’s with the shoes protectors on which, bif removed, will take it down to 110, you can fit the supplied spike extenders which adds 13mm, again you can use those with or without spike shoes to give a few mm difference.

So with standard spikes it’s 110
With shoes 112
With spike extensions and shoes 125mm
With just extensions no shoes 122-123m
With no spikes at all just flat you're looking at about 100mm

Questions for the seller
What is the height of the stand? Is there any adjustability?
Hello I don't have it with me, but OI ordered it with a height of 4.5 inches. There is some adjustability via the adjustable pods and your own tonearm pillar. Thx and regards
