HB Cable Designs Power Star Horizon

This is one of, if not the BEST conditioners on the market. The HB Cable Design line is created, designed and manufactured by hand in Germany. The attention to detail and quality control is unheard of in todays world. My pics don’t do it justice, it is gorgeous (please google it, to see a you tube video of its outward and internal design).

To understand how good these are, they are used personally and recommended by Brian Ackerman (Aaudio Imports) on multi-million dollar systems (once again, please google to verify the systems that use these conditioners). These audiophiles have the resources to by anything they wish (no cost constraints) and they choose HB Cable Designs.

The current line of 3 conditioners from HB Cable Designs range from the Powerstar Horizon (my model) at $8,500 to the Powerslave Acrylic ($16,500) to the Powerslave Marble ($21,500). I have heard ALL THREE of them and here’s my take ….. I thought the sound was more Organic and natural from the Horizon vs the Acrylic. Listening to the Horizon vs the Marble, I could only tell a difference in close A/B comparisons and if anything I would rate the Marble perhaps slightly better. So, is worth $18,000+ over mine (at $2,200) .. not per my pocketbook but you can be the judge.

Comparisons vs other conditioners:
I just retired and have been buying/selling components my whole life trying to get the best sound (probably just like you). I have owned and auditioned 20+ power conditioning systems from the very first regenerators from PS Audio (to their current P15), Equitech, Torus, Isotek, Isoclean, Lab 12, Synergistic Research, Bryson, etc, etc. My last system was Shunyata’s state of the art (at the time ) Triton and Typhon combo with their high end power cords (price all in was over $20,000). I traded them for the HB Horizon … that’s how good the Horizon is.

These do not come with a power cable (but I will include a good generic one if needed) However I strongly suggest a high quality power cord.

Now for the BONUS Options:
1. I specially ordered a parcel of Becote wood (one of the most dense woods in the world) and also used for custom guitar designs. I had a master craftsman cut, lathe and hand polish it. You can see it in the pictures (absolutely beautiful). It is 29” x 7.5” x 2.5” and easily weighs over 15lbs. This I designed for the Horizon to rest on for greater isolation (and beauty!). I used the audio footers (see pics) under the wood base for even greater isolation.

The cost of this custom base is over $300, I would include for $150 (please don’t ask for it to be included free, I can use it for another component but it was designed for the Horizon. It is the only one like it in the world.

2. I narrowed it down to 2 power cords (after trying many) that I thought worked best with the Horizon:

- Purist Audio Design Aqueos Aureus Luminist Revision power cord with OPTIONAL Furutech connector upgrades ($230 per connector)

- Synergistic Research Tesla SE T-3 power cord with active control adapter

I will discount either or both cords over 50% off for the buyer of the Horizon. If you don’t want the cords I will list them after the Horizon sale.
