Hello! My name is Dean and I am starting a new company, sonic.build. I am applying my 17 years designing and installing A/V in fine homes in San Francisco and beyond, and am hand-building Roon Bridges, one for use with your own amp, the other for use with your own DAC. These will be plug-and-play (especially when connected to Ethernet) and two or more are ideal for homes with multiroom audio.
I am completely aware anyone can build their own - but I believe many people either don't want to fuss with it, or don't have the aptitude to do so in the first place. I also get that people can buy FiiO or WiiM for less - but with me, you're dealing with a person, in the US, and not some faceless foreign business. I am here, and happy to help if there's a problem - try that with FiiO or WiiM!

“one for use with your own amp, the other for use with your own DAC.”
I have my own DAC and my own amp, so a little confused here. I thought this was connected to a Ethernet cable and the put out a digital signal (usb or spdif?) to a DAC and then to a preamp.
What am I getting wrong. I use a Sonore ultraRendu and looking for something similar and cheaper for a second system.

Our Digital model works exactly as you described. It connects to your Roon Core via Ethernet or WiFi, and then outputs digital audio via USB or S/PDIF (coax or TOSLINK). It will work perfectly for you. Indeed, Sonore was a motivation for what I am doing: our products produce identical results for far less money.

FYI our Analog model has its own DAC and sends line level analog audio via its stereo RCA output. Its output can then be connected to a pre/pro, amp, A/V receiver, or powered speakers. A great application is 4 of our Analog models connected to an 8 channel power amp, which in turn is connected to the in-ceiling/in-wall speakers in 4 rooms of a home.
