Counterpoint SA-2 Vintage Vacuum-Tubed Pre-Preamplifier, Ugraded by Michael Elliott

Counterpoint SA-2, vintage (1980s) vacuum-tubed pre-preamplifier (“head amplifier”) with outboard power transformer.  Note: The SA-2 is NOT a phono stage.  Rather, it is designed to amplify the delicate signals of a low-output moving coil cartridge to levels suitable for connection to the moving magnet (MM) phono input of a preamplifier or standalone phono amplifier. Fully-tubed signal path, including vacuum tube rectification and voltage regulation.

My SA-2 has been upgraded by Michael Elliott of Counterpoint, the SA-2's original designer, as evidenced by the unit's front panel LED, which glows light blue (instead of the standard green) as on all Michael Elliott-upgraded Counterpoint products.

The unit is in good operating condition but two of the four 6922 audio tubes (Gold Lions) are probably due for replacement. The other two 6922s (Tungsrams, purchased from Upscale Audio) have very low hours. I am the unit's original owner. Includes owner's manual and original packing.
