These two modules were meticulously reclaimed from a Solid State Logic XL 9000 K Series console—the pinnacle of analog engineering, of which only 55 units were ever produced worldwide. When you engage these preamps, you are using the same circuitry that defined the sound of early 2000s hits, now reimagined in a grand desktop format for the modern studio.

• vs. SSL 4000G: While the 4000G is famous for its "crunch" and "aggression," it suffers from a higher noise floor and narrower bandwidth. The 9000K offers the same legendary SSL workflow but with "SuperAnalogue" technology, providing a massive frequency response (5Hz to 120kHz) and a much deeper, more transparent low-end that the 4000G simply cannot reach.

• vs. SSL 9000J: The 9000J was a breakthrough, but the 9000K (the final evolution) refined the center section and path circuitry even further. The K-series provides more headroom and a more "musical" phase response compared to the J-series. It is the most refined, cleanest, and most powerful sounding console SSL ever built.

The Origin: Ex-KBS (Korean Broadcasting System) Main Console This unit was built using original channel strips from the Solid State Logic (SSL) 9080K console, which served as the main desk at KBS (Korean Broadcasting System), South Korea's premier public broadcaster.
