Exemplar Audio eXception Hybrid integrated amp - with many John Tucker upgrades

This is the integrated amp I have been using over the past 18 months. Purchased directly from John at eXemplar Audio. John is a brilliant audio designer and former NASA engineer. It replaced a $10k tube hybrid integrated by Circle Labs which I also liked a great deal. John’s hybrid integrated simply sounded better in every important sonic parameter. Much more dynamic, improved bass drive, more resolving and just as musical! I have also compared this integrated to other high performing integrateds with retail prices up to $15K and we preferred the eXception in every instance. Yes, I am a big fan of John’s designs. He uses short signal paths, state of the art voltage regulation utilizing Belleson regulators and the best quality parts. He combines a sweet sounding full tube preamp section with a unique solid state, class a/b amplifier section. Very innovative design resulting in the best sounding integrated amp you will hear anywhere near its price new. At my price I am confident you will be exceedingly pleased.

I am purchasing John’s top of the line preamp and separate amp combo and thus this sale.

This unit has upgraded Mundorf power supply caps, upgraded silicon carbide fast recovery diodes, the wonderful sounding Urushi Capacitors (see link below - $100 each). The Urushi capacitors are also in parallel with the Jupiter VitaminQ pure silver capacitors. These Jupiter caps sound amazing and cost $100 each. Great sounding capacitor combo on the tube preamp output section!

The chassis and top cover have been treated with Soundcoat vibration dampening sheets. The Alps potentiometer has been modified so the audio signal only passes through two Vishay Nude ZFoil resistors which are the purest sounding resistors available. John also used the ZFoil resistors through the amp in key locations. John also included a ground lift switch on the back of the unit. Not the standard eXception integrated, but a nicely upgraded version.

Finally, I will include two NOS Russian tubes with low hours. 

The amp has 5 inputs and a remote for volume, mute and inputs. John also added a preamp output.

Rated at 50 watts per channel please know it sounds more dynamic and powerful than amps with 2-3X is power rating. Yes, it will drive most any speaker!

I much prefer local pick up in The Nashville area. This allows you to hear the amp for yourself. Shipping is possible at the buyers expense. I am also willing to meet a buyer at some central point if the drive is under 2 or so hours. PayPal F&F please.
