VAC Renaissance 30/70 Monos-Rare Bargain!!

     These are my coveted Renaissance 30/70 Class A Triode amps. 300b based power houses! Input tubes are the muscular 6sn7's. They started out as the preferred Mk.3 version that also includes the LED Sentry system for auto-biasing. The leds will also indicate a bad 300b output tube. Feedback is user controlled in 6 positions. Most choose the "0" setting.

These amps were part of VAC's state of the art system in the day! These were the most powerful, yet musical Triode/300b amps made. Of course they contain the finest parts, and are hand wired. Head Designer/Owner Kevin Hayes said there are maybe 30 to 35 pairs of these in existence. They weigh about 75 pounds each, and are a gorgeous design.
Of course, properly designed Mono amps provide the most convincing performance.

They have received thorough maintenance by their Head Tech on 2 occasions since I have owned them. (I have owned them for over 7 years.) The first time they got 16 new voltage rectifiers, plus other minor repairs. The last time, one got a few new solder joints, the other a new output transformer.

Last year I purchased a complete new set of Gold Lions 300b's from VAC. This is the same brand they use in their 100,000.00 plus current state of the art amplifiers. the 6sn7 input tubes are very choice vintage big bottle Sylvanias (mid-fifties) and RCA's (early 60's). Each amp also has a long out of production Hi-Fi Tuning Gold fuse installed. And yes, they are audible!

Performance is absolutely superb on all kinds of music! I am now in my mid 70's, and have owned numerous top notch amplifiers. I know of no others that are priced below insane $$$$, that are as involving!  They are rated at a very modest 75wpc, guaranteed to drive most of the finest speakers in your home effortlessly. 

For decades, I have heard experienced music lovers choose the better quality 300b amps as their favorites! I certainly can agree. VAC 300b amps must use only Western Electric specified replacements! Always check with VAC if you are not certain of the 300b tubes you use!

It is important to match up your 300b's for best performance.

Shipping Update:
All 3 boxes are now packed. and stored in a warm, dry location.
All boxes are double boxed, with plenty of cushioning/styrofoam between the boxes, and of course inside.
The amp outer boxes are completely covered in heavy nylon packing tape for reinforcement.
All of the high gloss surfaces are covered with saran wrap and cheese cloth to prevent scuffing.
EVERYTHING is well marked, and coded for the best tube orientation.

Packing preparation took well over 3 hours.

I would prefer Local Pickup if practical for you. I live 2 1/2 hours north of the Minneapolis area. Otherwise, I have the VAC sourced boxes, tubes/accessories travel in a third box. I do not have the generic ac cords, most people want to use their own ac cords.
A spare, used Shuguang "Black Treasure" 300b will be included as a spare.

I will ship only to the lower 48 states by UPS Ground. Cost will be a fair Flat Rate of $450.00. If it should be less, I will send a refund. It will likely cost more!

The cosmetics are really clean, some expected fading on the brass plating, very minor marks on the cabinet. Not mint, but still attractive. Perhaps an 8 minus?

I am ONLY parting with these as I am scaling back due to my age, etc.

+++At this time the FIRM price is $4800.00! In over 20 years of watching the Audio sites, I have seen these unique VAC collector's items only twice! I bought the second pair, and had VAC properly refurbish them!
This is an exceptional buy!! I estimate that I have over $8,000.00 invested in them.
