Tung-Sol 6SU7GTY - USA - NIB - matched pair - branded "NJRT Tube Co"

A NIB pair of Tung Sol 6SU7GTY tubes dating to the mid 1950's. Branded "New Jersey Radio & Television Tube Co”, one of the nearby firms in Irvington, NJ that bought excess and leftover old stock from Tung Sol and later from Wagner-Tung Sol when they ceased their manufacture in the 1960’s.

The 6SU7GTY is a designation unique to Tung Sol. The 6SU7GTY was a special 6SL7GT, selected for having less than a 3% difference in gain between triodes for use in a special radio application. These tubes were labeled “6SL7GT” to sell into the commercial market, as the 6SU7GTY designation would have no meaning to non-military consumers. These are considered by some to be the best American made 6SL7GT that money can buy.

Black, round plates. Brown, micanol bases. They have the exact same structure inside and out, dating to the mid 1950’s.

Tested on a calibrated Hickok TV-3 military tester. The pair are matched for dynamic gain and structure. They test at 1675-1625 and 1625-1625, where pass/fail is 1100 micromho.

They have been graded "mint" because they were not originally shipped from the factory with seals on the boxes and so do not satisfy Audiogon's strict "new" definition.
