    • LUMIN X1
Very impressed, especially with the Leedh volume control. No preamp needed.
    • Clarisys Minuet
Just installed on 8-29-23. replaced my beloved Focal Sopra 2's.
    • Rotel Michi 8
Just added these 140 lb. amps. Rated for 1800 watts per 4 ohm.
    • JL Audio F-113 Subwoofers (4) of them.
    4 F-113's
    • AudioQuest Niagara 7000, (2) 1200, 1000
On my 3 dedicated lines for a total of 4 AudioQuest units. I have (2)1200 for my JL subs. 2 are in the back of the room and 2 in the front.
    AudioQuest Niagara Power conditioners
    • ADD-POWR Sorcer X4
    Great conditioner!
    • AudioQuest Dragon High Current 20A for My Niagara 7000 & Dragon Source
Using this power cord on my AudioQuest Niagara 7000 power conditioner. Quite impressive!
Added another Dragon Source to my Lumin X1
    • Critical Mass Systems Center Stage CM2,2M in both the 1.0 & 1.5 size footers. Total of 6 sets being used.
I now have 6 sets under my equipment and boy are they impressive.
    • Clarus Crimson Bi-Wire Speaker Cable
    • Infigo Cables USB, Signature 2 sets XLR cables
    • Entreq Silver Tellus
Silver Tellus used om my digital. Plus a DIY large box used on analog and two smaller DIY boxes used on each speaker.
    • EtherRegen Uptone Audio
    • AfterDark Queen Clock and Linear power supply
    Combo
    • WireWorld Platinum 8 Ethernet
I didn't think an ethernet cable would improve the sound much, but with cable connected to my Ether Regen input from my modem even though I am sending the output via fiber to my Lumin X1, increased the sound quality presence. Quite impressive.

jond,

Sorry about the late response. I really enjoy the Atma-Spheres. But, I want to try some other speakers such as Planers or Electrastats  that I know have very difficult impedance and sensitivity requirements.

@ozzy I just saw your Atma's for sale and was shocked! Actually I wasn't shocked at all as I dubbed you the tinkerer :p. So what's the next move?

chazzy007,

I know the room pictures are dark, sorry I use that room also for home theater so the walls are painted dark grey and the carpet is also.

Very nice system Ozzy! Pic of your complete system is a little dark though. Impossible to see everything clearly.

lak,

They are in the pictures on the stands.

Looking good Ozzy!
Where are those DIY speakers?

Well, I just got done replacing the Aurum Cantus woofers with ScanSpeak Revelators in my DIY speakers.
I must say the ScanSpeak play way better in my sealed cabinets. Especially in bass response.

Beautiful Westie!  My boy is almost 13 years old, named Nipper.  Fabulous family member!

Hi Ozzy,

Do you have any left over Synergistic Research HFT's DIY  guys you want to sell?

Nice system -- are you still using the GPA Amp Stands? If so have you tried getting the Apex ball footers? I recently added these to my stands under my power amps and the effect was substantial (cleaned up hash and made the amps seem less loud (i.e. I needed to up the volume) presumably as it removed some nasties)

The Apex' are very expensive but often available used. I also upgraded to the SiNi balls which is a good value further add on

Well, the Aurum Cantus C165/50C2C 6-1/2" Midwoofer is actually a 7" woofer. I found it out the hard way when I took out the 6 1/2" Pyle for the Aurum Cantus.

I find the transition from ribbon to midwoofer to be seemless although I did have to pad down the Ribbon with some Mundorf resistors. Check out the specs on the Aurum drivers on Parts Express.

Hey Ozzy.

Great to see another Audiogoner going into DIY speakers! I'm working on a speaker with some similarities to yours and wanted to pick your brain: how do you find the balance of the dynamics from the G1 vs the 6.5" midwoofer?

My system is 4-way active xo, with a ribbon atop (Beyma TPL-150H) from 2kHz and up, midrange in the works but experimenting with Faital Pro 5" in a waveguide starting around 400/500Hz, dual 10" from 80Hz, subs below.

TPL-150 is very dynamic and I want a midrange to match it. I felt a single direct radiator had to be at least 8" to deliver enough dynamics but they beam before 2kHz and are scarce. MTM with two 5" would generate lobbying, so trying with a waveguide.

Seeing your design makes me revisit my decisions, though.

DIY Speakers, changed mid woofers from Pyle to Aurum Cantus C165/50C2C 6-1/2" Midwoofer. I used all Mundorf Supreme Silver, Gold, Oil caps. Mundorf resistors and Janzten foil inductors in a external crossover box 2,000hz @12db.

I am now using a DEQX Preamp unit that has a electronic crossover built in. With that, I have (2) JL Audio F-113 subs crossing over at 80hz to relive the low frequencies from the DIY Speaker.

All of my cables have been changed to Cerious Technologies Graphene Extremes!

My watch dog really likes them.

Hi Ozzy,
Your dog is the coolest thing I've seen on Agon in a while. Has the best ears too! Cheers,

Ozzy, yes I wish I had a Faraday Cage room. It is getting worse and worse. And the garbage on our ac lines is also getting worse and worse. What we all need is what Enid Lumley long ago suggested, our own nuclear generator.

Dev,Roxy54,

I used 1/8" copper caps with a large copper cone from a company called "Hareline" inside. Hareline makes items for fishing lures and can be bought from Amazon.

The caps however, will need to be purchased from a plumbing house. Then just simply glue the cone inside the cap. The cone is a direct drop in. I used Elmer's school glue to seal the cone inside the cap.

Isochronism, I love the dog, but... if he ever..., well lets just say he would have to gum his food.

ozzy

Ozzy, As a Dog lover, I really enjoy the pic of your Dog.
With my understanding of Terriers and attitude,
I hope he/she does not possess an expensive taste in cables.

Hi Ozzy,
Like Dev, I am also curious about how you made your DIY HFTs and where you place them. I was intrigued when I read about the real ones, but they are expensive, especially if you use them liberally. I would appreciate it if you could tell us how you made them from beginning to end.
Thanks, John

Hi Ozzy,

can you share a little more about your DIY HFT Bell tweak.

I take it you got some 1/4" copper caps but what did you use to put inside.

I was at a guys place and experienced what initial looked like bare room, no room acoustic panels or even plants noticeable but actually had HFT's + the FEQ - most defiantly transformed the space. Was nice enough to remove and go through the process, I was kinda shocked with the difference and now intrigued with what you wrote.
